Article Ref: 45 Four photocopied extracts of OS plans were recently found in Sawpit Lane, apparently lost by someone intent on a historic project. Each of the sheets comprises an extract from plans dated 1923, 1902, 1882 and one undated. I have dated this last one, unlikely to be OS, to between 1830 and 1849. I have also determined a way of reproducing each of them to a modern metric scale. Perhaps whoever lost them would be interested in recovering them, or their raster images as I have in my possession.
Anyone else intersted in historic research is also welcome to contact me particularly with reference to more closely dating the earliest map. My particular interest is Brocton Hall which is shown in post-1801 outline but with important buildings missing.
