The cat named Charlie was being looked after, along with her sister, whilst her owners were on holiday. She wandered off through neighbouring gardens and was startled by a dog and did not return home. Missing notices were delivered to nearby houses and an advert placed in the post office. A reported sighting led to a search on the Chase where her bell and distinctive cry were heard. This was less than 100 yards from where she had been staying but there was no response to calls or rattled catfood tins. Finally after an absence of eight days a kindly family rang the carers at 12.30 am to say that she was in their house and that they had seen the news item posted the day before on Brocton Online. Charlie now awaits collection by her happy owners who express their thanks to all who helped in her return. |
