Broadband Brocton : An Update

Great news, BT has just announced that the Milford Exchange has now been evaluated and broadband will be delivered when the registered number of users reaches the trigger level of 350. Various other exchanges seem to to have trigger levels set in the range 200 - 700, so it could have been a lot harder !

As of today there are 18 users registered, this is a start but this still leaves another 332 to go. Now that broadband has been given the 'amber light' it is now imperative that we get the remaining 332 users to register with their ISP. I hope that posting on this web site and word of mouth will start the ball rolling but I'm not sure that this alone will bring in the numbers.

I think a few more communication channels are required, how about a mail shot ? Are there any other mechanisms that could also be used such as the Parish Magazine, village hall notice board etc.

I think a mail shot would be a good idea as it would reach most of the potential users. Does anyone know what areas the Milford exchange covers, in addition to Brocton ? I'm willing to do a mail shot.

If you have any comments, suggestions or ideas then please feel free to email me at david.herbert@josquin.demon.co.uk or call me (evenings) on 01785 665424 (if engaged then I'm probably using the 'steam' modem).
